Traffic Survey Technician (manager designate) from 1 September 2016

Northern Link is looking for a Traffic Survey Technician from 1 September 2016

Working in south of the UK, but based within a 25-45-mile radius of Cheltenham.

Wage: £15.00 per hour or £60 per half day, £100.00 per day and £150 for ‘long’ days 12 hours plus.

Anticipate a minimum of 2 days per week initially rising to full time 4-5 days per week as more work is generated. We envisage the right candidate will be happy take on responsibility for their own tax, NI and holiday pay as the current rates of pay are significantly higher than the industry standard.

Vehicle: A fully expensed and liveried vehicle will be provided and may be available for limited private use.

Hours: Flexible but usually within 0900 to 1700. Some weekend work required.

Duration: Part time initially then full time when ability proven .

Requirements: Some computer knowledge is essential as much of the business of sending data and communicating is via e-mail. Relevant experience of the traffic data market would be appreciated but is not wholly necessary as full training is offered. Duties will include the placing of traffic survey road tubes at temporary survey sites. Also the collection of data from permanent site data may be added, again when proven ability. Video camera work will also be required but no ladders are involved.  Applicants should be physically fit as the work often involves working in extremes of weather. Hold a full, clean UK driving licence.

Although the Northern Link is flexible regarding location, a 25-40-mile radius of Cheltenham is preferred for home base.

Hours are flexible and negotiable and can involve extra hours for which enhanced pay is offered.

Extensive UK travel is often required, sometimes at short notice so a high degree of flexibility is required from applicants.
